After having several consultations regarding the Line of Learning Statement of Content , the Qualifications Curriculum Authority (QCA) will now consult nationally on the criteria for qualification development.

Phase III Diploma Consultation Events

QCA and  SkillsActive  are pleased to announce nine regional events during 2008 to help shape the Diplomas in Public Services, Retail, Sport & Leisure, and Travel & Tourism.

The Diploma is an exciting new 14-19 qualification that will bring an innovative approach to learning. It will enable students to gain knowledge, understanding and hands-on experience of broad sectors that they are interested in, while putting new skills into practice.

Preregistering with QCA by clicking on the link at the end of this email will add you to the invitation list for these events; QCA will email again in early 2008 formally requesting you to express a preference for two of the venues below. Please keep the relevant dates free in your diary.

The purpose of these events is to:

* seek constructive feedback on the draft Lines of Learning Criteria;
* identify any common issues across Lines of Learning;
* ensure the draft Lines of Learning Criteria are fully inclusive and do not pose any unnecessary barriers to access; and
* facilitate general discussion on the appropriateness of progression pathways identified for each line by the Diploma Development Partnerships.
