Your Yorkshire Dales National Park

The Yorkshire Dales National Park is an ever-changing, living landscape. During 2012, the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority (YDNPA) will be working with a wide range of organisations and the public to set out what kind of place we’d all like the area to be in years to come.

‘Your Yorkshire Dales National Park’ is asking individuals and organisations, whatever their interest in the National Park, to tell us what they would like the National Park to be like in the future.

The consultation is running for six weeks from the 19 March to 30 April 2012 as part of the review of the National Park Management Plan.

More information about the consultation can be found at: www.yorkshiredales.org.uk/your

There are a number of ways to feed into the consultation including an online questionnaire for organisations and interest groups, which can be accessed directly here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/your-orgs

The different views collected through the consultation, together with up-to-date evidence about different aspects of the National Park, will be used to draft a new National Park Management Plan. A draft document should be available for comment in September 2012.

The Your Yorkshire Dales National Park consultation also marks the starting point for producing a new ‘Local Plan’.This is the main planning policy document for the National Park. Its purpose is to provide a clear local framework to guide and promote new development where it is needed, while protecting the quality of the area’s unique historic, natural and built environment. The Local Plan will be based on the same shared vision as the NPMP and further research and consultations on its detailed content will be undertaken starting in late summer 2012.

Please do take the time to take part in the consultation  – we welcome your views.

There are also a number of different ways the public can get involved and if you feel that any of your customers, members or stakeholders would be interested in participating please forward them the web address – www.yorkshiredales.org.uk/your <http://www.yorkshiredales.org.uk/your>  - or make use of any of our free promotional resources, available in ‘Your resources’ <http://www.yorkshiredales.org.uk/lookingafter/your/yourresources>  section of the web channel, to spread the message to get involved.
